Ratchet? Ok, I can see why you might suggest Ratchet. I see the similarity to the helmet of that space suit/armor I've seen him wear from time to time (don't know the specific name, I hardly play the series).
But that doesn't make much sense to me because why would they use an image of Ratchet's head wearing that helmet as his main character select screen avatar? I am aware that each character in the game with have at least 3 alternate costumes, and that Ratch...
Out of the characters you named, GEX is the odd man out. At no point in it's history was GEX ever PlayStation exclusive as far as I remember, though I'm honestly not sure about the 3rd one. But I know I had the first and 2nd GEX games on Sega Saturn.
On the topic of this pic, has anyone figured out who that 5th new character in this pic is? Obviously there's Crash and Tomba. There's Sackboy and who looks like the kid from Ape Escape. But who is that to the right...

While I think you're correct about the scythe being new Dante's, not Ryu's. I completely disagree about your content criticism. New Dante is only going to be the default costume. It makes sense. For Capcom to allow All Stars to use Dante, it's obvious there would be a clause to that, which would be the main default costume would have to be the design from the new game.
But whether you like new Dante design like me, or dislike him li...
I understand all of that, and as I said, I like that all stars doesn't have ring-outs. That's great.
But as I said before. The two games only look similar on the surface. The gameplay is FAR more deep than Smash. I don't think you can compare kill stealing in Smash to what it would be like in All Stars with a health bar. It would certainly still happen, and it's a valid strategy imo, but it would be less of a nagging issue because with all the attacks in the m...
First of all, what happened to betas having NDAs? Not that I mind reading about betas, but it seems like every website talks about their experiences in betas. Do companies no longer use NDAs?
On the topic of this game, I agree with this articles one real gripe about the game. WHile I LOVE that there are no ring-outs like Smash has, and I LOVE that the game is far more deep and all characters feel and play differently unlike Smash. I think that on the surface the game looks li...
For me there is only one game that comes to mind. A game that if it weren't cancelled, and the creator's of the series cared enough about it to actually put in some effort, could have had the potential to be mind blowingly stunning.
Monster Hunter 3.
Thanks Capcom.
With the RARE step forward Monster Hunter has ever taken, Capcom pushes it down a flight of stairs. So much wasted potential. Potential easily reached too since it's th...
That's not quite the story I remember. If I recall GTA had nothing to do with anything. That exclusivity deal ended long before this generation even started when the GTA games came out on the original Xbox. The "origin story" of AGENT I recall goes something like this....
Sony wanted a new exclusive RockStar game for their new hardware (PS3), so they went to R* and said hey, make us a great game, and WE are going to fund the whole thing, spare no expense.
Remote Play wasn't "tossed aside" on PSP. It worked exactly as advertised, and I know because I used it nearly every night on my breaks at work. Before I would go to work, I would put whatever FF PS1 game I was playing at the time in my PS3's disc drive, and on my breaks I would fire up my PSP, connect to the wi-fi at work and I could connect and turn on my PS3 at home and play the FF in the disc drive. Granted, there was input lag like crazy, but that was why I was playing ...
I agree and don't agree at the same time. I agree hardware needs it's own identity. But I feel in this age of digital content, I also like the idea of ALL my digital games (or at least most of them), working on any digital gaming device I could have. Especially when all those gaming devices have a PlayStation label on them, and they all use my same exact PSN account.
Basically, I wish ALL full PSN games worked on Vita. I don't mean PS2 or PS3 games, but I know I w...
Bayonetta doesn't rip-off God of War. I consider them to play completely different. Bayonetta is a complete carbon copy of Devil May Cry just with a new coat of paint. But Bayonetta's creator is DMC's creator........so can a guy rip himself off?
Everything is influenced by SOMETHING. Very few things today can be completely original in any field. Even DMC wasn't the first 3-D hack n slash, I'm sure. I bet it took alot of influence from a game like Nightmare...
@shok
While I agree with your logic, wasn't it in fact confirmed that UE4 WOULDN'T work on Wii U? I though I read that durring or just after E3?
I have a question about this. Is the fact that the WiiU version looks better actually SHOWN with comparison pics, or is this article based on Shane Shatterfield just SAYING so?
Because 1) As a former HUGE fan of GameTrailers since about 2006 or so, if there's two things I know about Shane Shatterfield, it's that he's full of ......crap.......and that he's quite a fanboy of certain companies and is a hater of those he's not a fanboy of.
And...
@BeReal
Oddly enough ...... and I sh** you not here, I came to that same exact conclusion. That is absolutely beyond coincidence.
There you have it. Solid evidence that the author of this article wets the bed. I think it would hold up in court.
Yeah, this MAY be the killer for me. This game looks SO amazing, that I was strongly considering breaking my "no subscription gaming" rule (I mean for gameplay, I'm a Plus subscriber for sure). This was all just ASSuming it was a free-download like DCU or Free Realms. But if I'm also paying for the game.......idk........
But still, at $40 it's something I may still consider. Gonna have to wait for technical details, like how many characters I can have on...
You're not the only one. I'm super excited to play this game. I've always been totally against subscription gaming, but I've always said MMOs are kinda worth it if you really love the game (though I honestly think $15 a month is FAR too much). I think this game on PS3 is just MAY be the game that's finally "worth it" to me. If the game is a free download on PS3 though, I'm pretty sure they'll get at least a few months worth of subscription out of me.
I'm right there with you on Swamp Thing. He's a highly under-rated character, and would be a perfect fit for a "dark" super-hero fighting game, especially considering the extremely dark tone the character and his series got back in like 05/06. It started harkening back to the old-school, explicit horror style.
The only other characters I'm REALLY hoping are in the game are LOBO and Doomsday, and maybe Martian ManHunter. A favorite DC character of mine, w...
I don't understand why people are so upset about the first image of Dante being shown in this game (who I think we all knew was going to be in the game), is of the likely default new Dante from the upcoming DMC game. That being the upcoming DMC, and coming out around the same time frame as All Stars, it's pretty obvious that Capcom would dictate the default costume for Dante would be from the newest game. That's a given. It's the only way it could be. That's how it's a...
The character in the middle, I instantly thought that was a cute characiture (spelling?) of Cloud. Like a Kiddie Cloud or something. Just wishfull thinking I'm sure.
Agreed. And the stage to the left in the middle...........is it just me or does that look like a FF7 Airship based stage?
I think you're missing the [previous] and [next] buttons in that image. There will be more than 20 characters.
